It’s widely believed that Cinco de Mayo is a celebration that commemorates Mexican independence. In actuality, it’s a celebration of the Mexican army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. The More You Know…Here in the US, it’s become a great reason to get together, party, and drink some beer! With swanky interiors, skyline views, an ivy covered courtyard and three full service bars, The Belmont, located in the heart of downtown Austin is the perfect spot for a Quiet Clubbing Silent Disco. Austin Record Convention | Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am | Palmer Events Center
The Austin Record Convention is the largest sale of recorded music in the USA. From the 78’s of the 1930s, to CDs (and probably even a few 8-track tapes!), there are over one million 78s, 45s, LPs, CDs, cassettes, posters, collectibles and music-related memorabilia available here than at any one time, anywhere else in the country. Over 300 different dealers from all over the U.S.A. and Europe are spread out over 40,000 square feet of floor space. The show is so big to see everything takes most of the weekend! East 6th Cinco De Mayo Bar Crawl | 12:00pm | The Lucky Duck, Latchkey, Hotel Vegas
This bar crawl will consist of 3 of Austin’s favorite east side bars: The Lucky Duck, Latchkey & Hotel Vegas. Check in at The Lucky Duck entrance to receive your wristband and raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are available for $1 or 10 for $5. The grand prize giveaway will consist of: Campo Bravo Tequila gift box, In The Crew 512 snapback, unbooze 10pack and a Happy Dad gift box.
