Hello! We did it. Friday, at longggg last!
*Major props to the folks working the mass vacc site at Delco Activity Center in NE Austin. I took my Mom to get vacc’d yesterday and everyone we encountered from the folks in the parking lots, to the folks bellowing helpful info and checking people in – they were incredible. Highly grateful for and impressed with this crew.
*Didn’t post Wild Cards from yesterday’s show cause of the above extra duty.
*Maggie Rogers will perform on this weekend’s Austin City Limits. For one of our Wild Cards yesterday we bopped “On and Off”.
*St. Vincent’s Austin City Limits taping will air next weekend. so for our 2nd Wild Card of the day we heard one of my all time St. Vincent songs, “Cruel”.
*For FriYAY’s first Wild Card of the morning, we heard from an artist that will be performing at Sunday Night’s “We’re Texas” virtual benefit show, streamable on YouTube at 7pm. IDK about you, but I stan.
*For our final Wild Card of the week…I think we may have a tradition on our hands here, folks. Back in the day, Brother Johnny Walker would close out the work week in afternoon drive with this old skool Austin bop;
I’ve played this one a few times now on Friday mornings. I just feel like it’s perfect pump up music to finish the week strong. I feel a tradition coming on.
